ilusiones/illusions : something that looks or seems different from what it is : something that is false or not real but that seems to be true or real.
Most of the time, the story our brains generate matches the real, physical world but not always. Our brains also unconsciously bend our perception of reality to meet our desired expectations.
If our brains are making up a story about reality, could our senses have flaws? Should we be looking for blind spots to acknowledge and become better thinkers. If reality is misperceived, we may not understand where an interpretation may have come from.
Introducing new knowledge and information changes our perception of the world and allows the brain to be a self-correcting machine. It is not fixed and it can be molded by new knowledge and information we get.
“Now he has departed from this strange world a little ahead of me. That means nothing. People like us, who believe in physics, know that the distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion.” – Albert Einstein.
